Whatever Goes

This morning I got ready to go to stake conference with my family, making sure that we left early enough to get a good seat at the tabernacle before it started... we should've noticed something was off when there wasn't any other cars driving to the tabernacle with us. We thought we must just be early. Turns out we were early... ALMOST 3 HOURS EARLY TO BE EXACT. So what do you do when you're at the Ogden tabernacle with a camera in your car and a ton of time to spare??

You go find a cool building with a unique wall and you take pictures!
We tried to make the most of our time there. Drove around forever trying to find a building that we could use as our background. Do you guys have any favorite buildings/walls you like to use as backgrounds?? If so, don't be afraid to comment! I love hearing about new places to go take pictures at.
I used to have a really pretty blue wall at a park by my house which was PERFECT for picture taking, but they TORE IT DOWN to build a NEW PLAYGROUND. It's fine. I'm fine.

Haha anyways! I have so many things coming up in my life where I will just have to let go and go with the flow. Starting college, auditioning for the fall productions, and making new friends. I know college will be fun. I am trying so hard not to psyche myself out because of how nervous i am. I know that whatever happens, everything will be okay. I will find a way to be happy and to keep moving forward and progressing no matter what gets thrown in my way. If I don't make the shows this fall, it will be okay! Just adds more experience to my plate and helps me work on getting better. Plus I'll be able to get a feel for the program before I'm actually a part of it.
We'll see how it goes though. Lots of new changes coming up with living the whole college life. I'm excited to see where it goes.

Today I'm wearing my new favorite scallop dress from Bohme Boutique, paired with a statement necklace from evereve. Totally wasn't planning on taking pictures today. This shoot ended up being on the spot with my sister and mom joining in the end.

However I hope you enjoy!
Thanks for reading :)

Bringing the Bling

With the first day of my high school's school year right around the corner, I couldn't help bringing out my old homecoming dresses and having a little mini photoshoot with them.

Some of my favorite memories from high school were the dances. I loved the excitement of getting asked to a dance, figuring out the puzzle or following the clues to figure out who your date was going to be, and then getting to know my dates a little more and spending time with them in such a fun way. And most of all, I absolutely LOVED being able to dress up and feel like a princess for a night.

I was able to go to my first formal dance my junior year of high school. I came home one night to find my room filled with balloons and tiny silver stars scattered EVERYWHERE. There was a baseball mitt on my bed with a note that read, "Will you be my catch 2 homecoming?" And I had to search all over my room for these softballs that my date had written sayings like "hot, cold, getting closer.." Until I finally found the ball with his name written on it. Which I thought was such a cute idea since I loved softball. Who knew that my date to homecoming that year would end up being one of my closest friends to this day!? I am so thankful for this memory that we got to share and our friendship that sparked because of this dance.

I'm also super grateful for all of my dates and their willingness to wear pink with me. I know the guys would have rather worn blue or red, but they showed everyone that pink can still be manly. ;)

Ugh! It's so hard for me to say goodbye to wearing these dresses because shopping for them was such a struggle. My dresses are a part of me. I was one picky shopper, let me just say that. I could not and did not stop until I found THE ONE.

Not every dress was a "Kenzie dress."

And that is what mine had to be.

Anyways, I totally love reminiscing with these gorgeous gowns. Homecoming was always one of my favorites. I encourage everyone to go find an old photo of you and your date, and take a trip back down memory lane of one of your dances. Was your dress "in style" at the time? Did it have poofy sleeves or was it decked out with bling??

I find the dances being some of my favorite memories of high school. I love that I can look back and cherish that time forever.

Summer Blues

I can't help but feel a little sad because the summer is coming to a close. It's always a bittersweet time. Getting ready for the fall school year and having the warm weather slowly grow colder. But then I'm also excited to get ready for school in the fall.

I'm starting the school year off as a young single girl. And I'm actually really excited for all of the new adventures I will experience with college. I can't wait to start doing plays again and working with the theatre department as I major in Musical Theatre this fall.

Lots of changes have been happening in my life. Friends are moving away to college, going on missions, and we are all moving towards the next step of our lives. I'm excited to see where they go in their lives and how they grow and become their own person, but it's also sad to know that we may never see each other again.

A very bittersweet summer. Full of really sad moments. Goodbyes are never fun. But I know the future has some something good in store for us all.
